Whether you're looking for demographics, community resources, or small business resources, we have you covered with Economic and Community Development.

Economic & Community Development

The Community and Economic Development Department supports ongoing communication and regional planning goals within the seven-county BVCOG region. Through a strong emphasis on community and economic development, our staff works with city and county officials to concentrate on rural transportation planning, economic development, small business funding, community development, grant writing, demographic interpretation, and GIS and mapping services.

If you are interested in learning more about the COG, exploring partnership opportunities, or accessing economic datasets for the region, please contact our Economic and Community Development Program Planner at ecdev@bvcog.org or (979) 595-2801 ext. 2241.

ANNOUNCING: Engage.BVCOG.Org

We are excited to announce the launch of Engage.BVCOG.org, which the Economic & Community Development (ECD) Department has developed with the help of Social Pinpoint. This new online platform is designed to enhance ECD’s regional engagement efforts across the Brazos Valley using online public engagement tools. Cities and counties that are interested in utilizing the Engage.BVCOG.org platform to conduct online public engagement related to local projects can reach out to the ECD team at ecdev@bvcog.org to set up a meeting to discuss potential project collaboration.

The Engage.BVCOG.org website also acts as a portal from which members of the public can access a variety of state or federal funding programs for local projects and programs.

Lastly, the Engage.BVCOG.org website acts as a portal from which members of the public can easily access municipal websites from across the region, including official city and county websites as well as specific department websites.

BVCOG Regional Dashboards

ANNOUNCING: REGIONAL DASHBOARDS

We are excited to announce our regional dashboard, that we developed with IMPACT! It will be a great asset to our agency and communities as we continue to assist our region in a post-COVID world. The dashboard includes demographic, employment, industry, business, and consumer information to assist with economic recovery and resiliency. This dashboard is only one part of the data resource update; we also now have county dashboards containing demographic and economic data such as at-risk population, educational attainment, and industry snapshots.

The data dashboards were created to help to store data in one place and is an excellent tool to support project justifications and for strategic planning purposes. The regional dashboard automatically updates when new information is available so you have the most accurate and up-to-date information.

This is not all the data we have to offer! If your agency is in need of assistance in your data search, please reach out to us at ecdev@bvcog.org.
