Volunteer in December for Senior Christmas
Make
a difference this Christmas by volunteering for Senior Christmas! We’ll be
assembling over 1000 gifts and we need your help. This is a great
opportunity for Youth Groups, Sports Teams, and any other social group
to get involved.
Gifts are assembled at the Brazos Valley Council of
Governments and delivered to nursing homes during their Christmas parties -
usually the first two weeks in December.
Groups
who volunteer to deliver gifts to a nursing home get a special opportunity to
connect with the seniors – often groups will request to deliver to the same
home each year, because of that special bond formed! Our region has nursing
homes in Brenham, Bremond, Bryan, Caldwell, Centerville, College Station,
Franklin, Hearne, Navasota and Madisonville – if you live in or near one of
these towns and would like to help out with a specific home, we can help
arrange for that.
