The BVCOG is the local affiliate for the Texas State Data Center maintaining geographic and demographic information for the counties and cities of our region.

Data Resources

The BVCOG serves as the local affiliate for the Texas State Data Center (TSDC) maintaining geographic and demographic information for the counties and cities within our region. BVCOGwas named the regional coordinating agency for the United States Census Bureau in 2000.

Additional Data Reports

The BVCOG has access to additional economic and demographic data reports beyond what is available through the Regional Dashboard. These datasets, provided through the program Lightcast Developer, include:

  • City Overview Reports – A city-focused economic overview featuring data on business, industry, and workforce characteristics

  • Community Indicators Maps – A map containing social, demographic, housing, and economic data organized at the block group level

    • Reports include a choropleth map for one of the selected data points covering the specified geography.

  • Occupation Snapshot Reports – An overview of an occupation with data related to jobs, earnings, programs, demographics, and more

    • Reports utilize Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes and can be customized to include/exclude jobs at any level of specificity upon request.

  • Workforce Availability Reports – An overview of an occupation with an emphasis towards pitching the data and narrative necessary for a business

    • Reports utilize Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes and can be customized to include/exclude jobs at any level of specificity upon request.
